Consumers and Telesales

According to a report (in Finnish), consumers feel they receive too many marketing calls, and most take a negative stand to them. A telemarketing situation is exceptional to a consumer: usually it is the consumer who takes the initiative and makes the purchase decision. With telesales, the initiative comes from the seller, requiring the consumer to decide quickly. In such a case, consumers may enter into a contract without having enough time to consider the matter.

Most problems had been caused to consumers by the telesales of subscription traps, periodicals, electricity contracts and television channel packages.
