Proposal for a directive on the online sales of goods

The FCCA in its statement (in Finnish) considered it essential that the scope of the proposal for a directive on the online sales of goods be expanded to apply to all sales of goods, regardless of the sales channel. The trader’s liability for defects should not be limited to two years, as such a limitation would not encourage the production of durable goods. It is also not in the consumers’ interests to leave the period for filing a complaint completely undefined. The more time has elapsed, the more difficult it is to determine the defects and assess the possible compensation.
