Deregulation and New Legislation
The FCCA promotes deregulation of unnecessary norms and the streamlining of existing ones. The purpose is to ensure that the key principles of the functioning of competition and consumer protection are not forgotten in the revision of regulations. Moreover, the statements of the Consumer Ombudsman have long highlighted technology-neutral, sustainable, durable and simple regulation.
In 2017, the FCCA’s deregulation efforts particularly targeted the transport sector, the financial markets, electronic communication, and social welfare and health care services. By influencing regulatory reforms, the FCCA has supported change in the business and economic structure, the promotion of digitalisation in trade and industry, and the creation of a competitive environment for business activities.
