New guidelines on offering consumer credits and payments in online shopping

The guidelines on offering consumer credits published in February 2017 were based on the amendments to consumer credit legislation that entered into force on 1 January 2017 and the development of legal praxis. The new guidelines inform credit providers and credit intermediaries of how the provisions laid down in Chapter 7 of the Consumer Protection Act are to be applied when offering consumer credit. The examples and case law explain which consumer credit issues must be mentioned in advertising.

In April 2017, guidelines were published on payments in online shopping. The guidelines are particularly targeted at online stores and companies that offer payment solutions to online stores. The guidelines provide instructions for companies on the implementation of payment practices so as to make payments both fluent and compliant with the law.
